OMV Sustainability Newsletter
Sustainability Newsletter April 2020
Dear Sir or Madam!

Recent weeks presented our societies with challenges that are unprecedented throughout many of our lifetimes. In this situation OMV remains committed to the long term sustainability goals and our societal responsibility. In March we already announced one of our key strategic steps in preparing OMV for a low carbon future - our planned acquisition of a controlling stake in Borealis by end of 2020. As an industry leader in petrochemicals and circular economy solutions, Borealis is a strategic addition to OMV Group.
Furthermore, our societal responsibility has and will continue to extend beyond our own business operations. In the past year alone, more than 60% of our social investments across OMV Group were dedicated to support health care access and well-being in our communities. This year, we extended our support to strengthen health service capacities in Austria, Romania and Libya during the COVID-19 pandemic. This newsletter edition will guide you through our recent activities and milestones.
OMV signed an agreement to integrate Borealis to prepare for a low carbon world
OMV signed an agreement to increase its stake to 75% in Borealis, one of Europe’s leading petrochemical companies by the end of 2020. The acquisition will transform OMV into a global oil, gas and chemicals group. This integrated business model will extend from the wellhead to high-quality plastic and reposition OMV Group in a low carbon future.
