Healthy Homes
Through the „Healthy Homes“ project, over 10,000 low-income New Zealanders households received insulation for their homes, improving their health outcomes and saving CO2 emissions through energy efficiency. To address this problem in the Taranaki area, OMV New Zealand is co-funding a project with Waitara Initiatives Supporting Employment (WISE). Better Homes are part of the Government’s initiative through the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (EECA), Ngati Ruanui (Healthy Marae), and has been running since 2016. This project has provided support and co-funding to install insulation into the homes of low-income families identified as having health issues due to their poorly insulated, cold, and damp living conditions. Families with young children or the elderly have been given priority in this project. The project also creates employment and training opportunities throughout the Taranaki region.
